Broadway outside Clarkdale town limits and then back to Main St within Clarkdale town limits. Both Cottonwood and Clarkdale are a part of the Verde Valley in Yavapai county.

Shortly before 11 am on June 21, 1928, two armed men - Willard Forrester and Earl Nelson - entered the Bank of Arizona in downtown and robbed $50,000. Willard Forrester was shot and killed.
Clarkdale surving bank robber Earl Nelson... had several alias's. He went by the name Paul Hoffman (when he was in the Matt Kimes gang, sometime involved with the Ma Barker boys), He used the name Claude Shriver when he stayed in Cottonwood, AZ at the Cottonwood Hotel and bought a car. The real Claude Shriver might have been a relative, he was from the same parts of OK... Other alias: Joe Stanley, Horace Lee, and the later Earl Nelson... Real name: Lee Forrester... yes, he was the brother to Willard Forrester who was shot and killed in Clarkdale. Lee (Earl Nelson) busted out of prison several times.
