The Cottonwood Hotel is an alternative to Jerome lodging (5.5 miles)
Jerome, Arizona Jerome AZ hotels alternative place to stay, the Cottonwood Hotel is one of the closest lodging accommodations and the most historic in Old Town Cottonwood, just down the hill from Jerome (5.5 miles).
Jerome is a fun, artsy and touristy community. Historic homes and old buildings cling to the edge of the narrow winding scenic State Route/Historic 89A going up and over Mingus Mountain to Prescott. Once a copper mining town during its heyday, Jerome later became a ghost town. Today it is a bustling tourist district. There are a couple of winery wine tasting rooms, great shops, a fine selection of galleries and restaurants. The Spirit Room is a popular place.
I always recommend exploring their most popular event, the 1st Saturday of the month, Art Walk. You can print out the Jerome Art Walk brochure HERE.
