Jerome, Arizona ...
a touristy, fun and artsy community with old historic homes and buildings hanging onto the edge of the narrow winding scenic state route 89a going up Mingus Mountain. Known as a revived ghost town, it was once a copper mining town during its heyday. If you like staying with ghosts in haunted hotels and having an ale in hippie bars with rock & roll music, you'll love it. Even if you don't, it is still worth the visit. It is rich with history, has awesome views off the cliff sides, which make for panoramic photographs. There are a couple of wine tasting rooms, great shops and a fine selection of galleries. I always recommend the 1st Saturday of the month Jerome Art Walk. We have printed brochures, so please be sure to ask us for one or get one HERE.
The Gold King Mine is a pretty interesting place to visit. Make sure to get Pedro the mule to talk to you. He's a real character. You just gotta' love him!
If you're too spooked to stay in haunted hotels, (Jerome, Arizona is know for)... The little revived ghost town always makes for a nice day trip, or afternoon visit and is only 6 miles from the historic Cottonwood Hotel. We're not haunted, as our ghosts were sent to the white light, in the late 1990's, where in my opinion, they belong. I don't encourage that activity... Not saying we don't have one peeking in from time to time, but they are not welcome to reside here any longer, as they have in the past. For more on our history of the hotel CLICK HERE.

I recommend lunch at the Haunted Hamburger. (There are vegetarian dishes, too!)
Awesome Burgers! Awesome Margaritas in a mason jar! Awesome views! You can see Flagstaff San Francisco Peaks about 65 miles away.
